Sledding, Birthday, and New Years

This year for my dads birthday on the 28th of December we went sledding in the afternoon. Boston loves his new sled and it was actually warm enough to be outside. That night we continued the celebration by going to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. We love you Papa and I hope you had a happy birthday!

 

This year our friends had our New Years Eve party at Matt and Mckenzi's house.  We spend the evening eating and playing games.  I am so glad that we have great friends to hang out with.

Christmas

This year for Christmas we had a lot of fun.  Boston makes the holidays so much more exciting.  Even though he did not completely understand everything he defiantly got the concept of opening presents.  Every year we make gingerbread houses before Christmas.  This year we made trains and houses. 

 My sister and her family came into town the weekend before Christmas.  They were going home before Christmas day so our family celebration started the Friday before Christmas.  We all went to my parents house, had french dips for dinner, played games, and opened presents.

We also gave Roman a Jumping ball.  Roman has loved to jump since he was really little.

Hily wanted something to put up in her house so Jess and I painted and stained this old window and I put the saying "Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favorite" on it.

 This year Hily and I decided that we would both go in on a Ipad for our parents.  My moms reaction was priceless.  I don't think she even let my dad see what it was because she was to excited.  I think they both really liked it.

      Jess' family had a similar situation this year.  His sister Jana and her family drove home from Colorado this year for Christmas but they were heading back before Christmas day.  So his family had their party on Saturday night.  Every year his family acts out the Christmas story with all his nieces and nephews.  Boston was baby Jesus again.  At first he didn't mind but by the end he was done.

                                     

   Boston was not sure what to think about Santa.  He wanted nothing to do with sitting on his lap.  Maybe next year he will like him more.

   On Christmas Eve my parents came over and we spend the evening watching a Christmas story, playing with Boston, and eating.  We had shrimp, egg rolls, pizza sticks, and a potato bar.  Every year on Christmas Eve we get to open one present and it is pajamas.  So after dinner we all opened our pajamas.

 On Christmas morning Boston was so cute. He just kept looking at us like "is this mine?"

 Boston got this snowmobile sled for Christmas .  He loves anything he can ride.  He climbed right on.

 Boston's big gift this year was a castle slide and climber.  He loves it! He went right over to it and started playing on it. 

 After breakfast we went outside and spent some time playing in the snow and pulling Boston on his new sled.  He LOVED it.  It is so cute to watch him hold on.  It makes him look really grown up. 

  On Christmas afternoon we went to Jess' parents house to have dinner and open presents from them.  Santa brought Boston a Peyton Manning jersey so he had to wear it to the party. 

We had a great holiday this year.  We are so blessed to have amazing families to spend it with!

December

At the first of December Jess bought a Christmas countdown with chocolates behind the door the represented each day.  I can't believe how much Boston loved it.  He would open the door after you pointed to it and take out the chocolate.  We kept this on our kitchen counter and by the middle of the month he would walk up to it and say chocolate and point to it.

 We also took a drive up to Preston to see all of the lights.  Boston loved all the lights and characters and the Hollingsworth house.

Our neighbors have a team of horses and a wagon the they pull around.  They decorated it with Christmas lights and played music.  They were nice enough to give us a ride.  We all had a good time.

Grandma Janice found this horse at a garage sell this summer.  Jess fixed it up and painted it so Boston could ride it. 

 We also took a few trips up to the farm so we could help feed the cows.  Boston loves the farm!

 Roman was such a good helper.  He wanted to water the cows all by himself.  He is becoming so independent. 

 This year while we were christmas shopping we stopped at Locker 42 and while we were looking for some gifts Boston picked this hat out.  It happened to be his size and he wore it the entire time we were in the store.  We ended up getting it and he wants to wear it everywhere! Now he has started to say hat when he wants it.

 We also celebrated Grandma Janice's birthday on the 16th.  This year my parents, sister, and I all went in together and bought her a Kindle Fire. She was so excited (once she figured out what it was).  She kept saying "I'm on the Web."

                                We also got the chance to go to a USU basketball game.  Go Aggies!

Jess and his friends also we to Boise for the Potato Bowl again this year.  It was a great game and they had a lot of fun cheering on the Aggies.
